We plan to stay on campus on Wednesday afternoon. We will spend the first part of the afternoon outside and then be back inside to watch 6th grade poetry performances at the end of the day. Students should dress for the weather and be prepared to be outside. Students can order hot lunch.
Our March Know God discussion groups will take place on Tuesday of this week. Students should be sure to have completed their reading and bring their books to school on Tuesday.
The students will continue learning about stories from the first part of Jesus’s ministry. This week they will study the first miracle at Cana (water to wine), Nicodemus, and the story of the woman at the well. They’ll receive a quest review on Tuesday in class. Additionally, the unit quest (quiz/test) will take place on Tuesday, March 26. If your child is leaving early for Spring Break, he or she should plan on taking the quest prior to leaving for vacation.
The students will be finishing up their mystery book club discussions in class this week. Discussion groups will take place on Tuesday and Friday. The students are expected to complete the reading and a one-page (minimum) journal entry prior to each discussion. We’ll finish up the mystery unit with a celebration in library next Monday and a brief project that the students will complete in school next Monday and Tuesday. The next DLR quiz will take place on Monday, March 25.
Students are focusing on the Declaration of Independence in social studies. In science, they’re learning about different systems of the earth and focusing in on water.
Fifth graders will be spending Wednesday and Thursday of next week at Camp Roger all day. Students will need sack lunches both days, and they’ll need to be prepared to spend the day outside learning and hiking around.
