Weather dependent, we plan to be outside on Wednesday afternoon (off-campus). As the weather continues to change throughout the next few months (hopefully, getting warmer!) students will need to make sure that they have correct footwear, coats, etc. I anticipate that it will likely be muddy/wet on Wednesday afternoon; students will need some sort of boots. We won’t leave until after lunch; students can order hot lunch.
The students have a Daily Language Review quiz on Tuesday (March 12). Our mystery book club discussions will continue this week. The students have book club discussions on Tuesday and Friday of this week. Students need to be sure to bring their book club books to school each day. Additionally, they need one-page journal entries for each of our discussions.
The students will receive graded Bible tests back in class tomorrow (Monday). Also, we plan to squeeze in one more quick unit for Bible prior to Spring Break. This unit will focus on Jesus’s early ministry. The students will have a Bible memory passage and a unit quiz on Tuesday, March 26. If you anticipate leaving early for Spring Break, your child should plan on taking this quiz prior to leaving for break.
The next major thing the students will be focusing on in Social Studies is the Declaration of Independence. They’ll be examining what led up to the declaration, what it says, and what the impact of the document is.
Students are learning about various systems of the earth. They’ll be focusing in specifically about water prior to Spring Break.
Immerse Bible Reading
Our second Immerse Bible reading discussion groups will take place on Thursday of this week during lunch. We’re looking forward to kicking off the discussion groups this week. Students who are participating should have received a paper copy of the book. Additionally, the free audio can be accessed on the website here: http://immersebible.com/messiah/ …Students are reading Day 6-10.
We have two different activities planned this month with our second grade buddies. The first is this Friday; 5th graders will be sharing the tall tale stories they wrote with their buddies. The next is an afternoon reading time the following Friday.
Know God Groups
Students will receive Know God books in class tomorrow. They should complete the next section of reading prior to our discussion groups on Tuesday, March 19.
